Welcome to Purifierly! At Purifierly, we are science-loving nerds passionate about air filtration technology.
Purifierly.com covers the science of air purifiers. As an independent organization, we pride ourselves on producing high-quality, unbiased, and evidence-based reviews.
The Purifierly Story
In a world with so much pollution, clean air is getting harder to find. At Purifierly, we know that people need air cleaning options, but finding good quality, third-party reviews on the internet can be tough. We exist to help.
Purifierly is an independent review website dedicated to covering the science behind air purifiers and air ionizers. We research, rate, and review the latest air cleaning products – presenting our findings in buyers guides that can help you navigate through the world of air purifiers.
Purifierly was founded by Said Hamidi, who started the site after working with air purifiers for three years. He is a resident expert in air purifier technology and is dedicated to teaching more people about the value of air purification.
Today, Purifierly is run by a small team managed by Said.
Purifierly takes a science-first approach to all the content we produce. We only report on scientifically verifiable topics, and we always consider the latest research before making any recommendations.
As an independent review site, we supplement our science-first content with product reviews. We review two types of air filtration technology: air purifiers and air ionizers.
Air purifiers are machines that purify air by pulling in dirty air, cleaning it with a filter, and releasing it back into your space. There are two primary types of air purifiers: filterless air purifiers and filtered air purifiers. The most effective filtered air purifiers use High-Efficiency particulate Air (HEPA) filters.
If you would like to learn more about the science of air purifiers, please read our ‘How Do Air Purifiers Work?’ guide.
Air ionizers are machines that clean air using a high voltage charge that turns air molecules into negative ions (“anions”). These anions stick to dust, bacteria, and smoke particles, trapping them inside the air ionizer’s filter. Some filterless air purifiers are technically air ionizers, while others are not.

Our Review Process
At Purifierly, we take our review process very seriously. We assess all products on our website based on three key criteria, including:
- Quality of the product
- Value for money
When reviewing a product, we always consider a wide range of factors, including warranty, the type of filter used, the Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR), Air Changes Per Hour (ACH), filter lifespan, product features, durability, and price. We never recommend products that we would not use personally. Our reviews are based on our own research and expertise in air filtration technology.
As we want our readers to choose long-term options that work for them, we recommend following Purifierly’s three-step process for selecting an air purifier:
- Choose your filter type.
- Choose particles to filter out.
- Shop for the space you have.
